Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe we have already reached the end of the Autumn Term! It has been a truly fantastic few months, characterised by wonderful engagement and a real love of learning across the school.

December has been particularly memorable. Our Year 3 pupils stepped back in time with their Stone Age Workshop, Year 4 immersed themselves in Ancient Egyptian history, and we enjoyed a lovely community visit to our local church.

A huge well done to our Year 2 pupils for their beautiful Carol Concert and to Reception for a heartwarming Nativity, you were all superstars!

We also want to extend a massive thank you to the PTA; the Christmas Fair was a huge success, and we simply couldn't do it without your hard work.

Stone Age workshop and Egyptian Workshop

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their workshop learning about the Stone Age and getting to handle lots of artefacts to give them an idea of how people lived.

Year 4 had a great time learning all about the Egyptians, enjoying lots of hands on crafts and role play to help understand the roles of people within the Egyptian society.

Reception Nativity

Well done to all our Reception children and the Reception staff for putting on such a lovely Wriggly Nativity! We are all very proud of how hard everyone worked, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! ✨

Year 2 Carol Concert

Thank you to all the parents who came to watch our Year 2 Carol Concert, we hope you enjoyed it. Well done to our Year 2s for singing so well and getting us all into the Christmas spirit! 🎅

Staff Panto

Our amazing staff entertained the whole school with their staff panto Alice in Wonderland. The children loved to see their teachers taking part and the school hall was filled with smiling faces and much laughter. A great way to end a term full of fun!

Christmas Fair

Thank you to everyone who gave their time and supported the PTA in making the Christmas Fair a great success. They raised a fabulous £2000 of vital funds which all come back into our school to provide extra resources for your children. A huge thank you to our wonderful PTA who worked hard to bring the fair together🎄

Staff Update

We would like to start by offering our heartfelt congratulations to Mrs Emily Pow, our Assistant Head, on the birth of her daughter. We wish her and her family the very best.

Looking ahead to the new term, we are proud to announce the appointment of Miss Rebecca Miranda as SENCO from January. In this role, she will join the Senior Leadership Team, playing a vital part in driving inclusion and supporting our pupils' diverse needs across the entire school.

Parent Governor Update

We are thrilled to officially welcome our two newest parent governors, Mrs. Consoli (Year 2) and Miss. Banin Naqvi (Year 3), to the governing body. We are delighted to have you on board and look forward to the valuable perspectives you will bring to our school leadership team.

Attendance

The current attendance at Ascot Road is 90% which is below national at 95%. Regular attendance is key to your child’s success. Each day in school builds their academic progress and social skills. Missing school can lead to gaps in learning, making it harder to keep up with lessons. By prioritising attendance, you help your child stay engaged and reach their full potential.

Healthy Eating Slip

We are introducing a new initiative to ensure children are coming to school with a healthy packed lunch. We are noticing an increasing number of unhealthy items being brought in to school which are not permitted.

If we notice these items in your child's lunch, a slip (as shown) will be put into their lunch box for your attention.

As we are all aware, a healthy balanced diet provides the energy, focus and brain function needed for learning while proper nutrition supports mood and concentration.

Your support is crucial to the success of this initiative.

Lost Property

From Tuesday 2nd December, we will have a lost property box outside. This will be located at the front of school by the wall next to the school office. Any unnamed items will be placed in the box.

At the end of each half term, any unclaimed items will be disposed of.

Please ensure you label all of your children's items. Please refrain from sending your child in with toys/unnecessary belongings.
