Dear Parents and Carers,

As we look ahead to the final term of the school year, I’m filled with excitement for the many wonderful events we have planned. From the much-anticipated Colour Run to our energetic Sports Day and the spectacular Summer Fair Extravaganza — this year made even more special as we celebrate 10 years of Ascot Road — there’s so much to look forward to!

In the last month, we were thrilled by the vibrant celebration of cultures on International Day. It was great to see the community come together and share their culture throught delicious food and drink. Children even got the chance to groom a pony!

Our pupils have enjoyed a range of enriching class trips that brought their learning to life this term. A special congratulations to our fantastic Year 6 pupils, who have shown such resilience and determination in completing their SATs — we are all incredibly proud of them.

Natural History Museum Trip Year 3

Year 3 had a fun trip to the Natural History Museum exploring lots of interesting zones throughout and took part in an Earthquakes & Volcanoes Show to support their learning in school.

Kew Gardens Trip Year 5

Year 5 enjoyed a sunny day out at Kew Gardens exploring the vast array of plant species and wonderful spaces it has to offer.

They even braved the treetop walkway!!

Gunnersbury Park Trip Year 1

Year 1 had a wonderful day out at Gunnersbury Park where the children enjoyed spending time outdoors and where they immersed themselves in all the fantastic exhibitions. They even got the chance to dress up as Victorians!

End of SATs Celebration!

A big well done to all of our Year 6's who worked incredibly hard in their SATs. A trip to the park in the sunshine was a well deserved day out!

PTA International Day Worldwide Treats

A huge thank you to the PTA and to all those who contributed and came to support the International Day celebration. It was a real success and it is wonderful to see our school community come together and celebrate each other.

Important Reminders

Please ensure the food your child brings into school does not contain any nuts as we are a NUT FREE school.

Please ensure all your children's items are clearly labelled! Uniform, water bottles, packed lunch boxes, coats.... we have so many items end up in the lost property every week, most of which is not labelled. Please ensure you label everything so if lost it can be quickly returned to its owner!

A reminder to all parents to please follow the one-way system when dropping off and picking up your children. This helps keep things safe and smooth for everyone. Sticking to the one-way route reduces congestion, keeps traffic flowing, and ensures the safety of all our pupils.

Start and end of school day notice

For everyone's safety, we kindly ask that children refrain from using the playground equipment or playing ball games on the school grounds during drop-off and pick-up times. We also request that families leave the school grounds promptly after collecting their children, so the gates can be securely locked. Many thanks for your support in this matter.

Attendance

The current attendance at Ascot Road is 92.1% which is below national at 94.5%. Regular attendance is key to your child’s success. Each day in school builds their academic progress and social skills. Missing school can lead to gaps in learning, making it harder to keep up with lessons. By prioritising attendance, you help your child stay engaged and reach their full potential.

We have set up an Amazon wish list containing items that the teachers would love the children to have access to and benefit from. We would be extremely grateful to our parents for any items we receive. Please find the link below
