As we come to the end of another wonderful year at Ascot Road, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many memorable moments we've shared as a school community. This year has been particularly special as we celebrated 10 fantastic years of Ascot Road. Our anniversary celebrations brought the whole school together, from the vibrant summer fair and joyful colour run, to the creation of a stunning bespoke mural that now brightens our school grounds. Every child also received a commemorative badge, a small but meaningful keepsake to mark this milestone.

Alongside these celebrations, we’ve had a year packed with enriching trips and events, helping bring learning to life in the most engaging ways.

I'm also proud to share that our outcomes have continued to rise, with improvements in SATs results and the Phonics Screening Check, reflecting the hard work of our pupils and staff.

As we look ahead, we also say goodbye to some valued members of staff, and we thank them for their contributions and wish them all the very best in their next chapters.

June & July at Ascot Road Primary

Gardening Club

Our gardening club, led by Mr Robb, were given the opportunity to visit the wonderful Serge Hill Project. They had such a lovely day learning lots of new things such as how compost is made and how to harvest potatoes. They even got to try some of the delicious homegrown fruits!

Bekonscot Trip Reception

Our Reception children went on an exciting trip to Bekonscot Model Village. They got to explore the village looking at what life was like in the 1930s and got to explore further by taking part in an interesting workshop.

Sports Day

The sun certainly shone for our sports day this year! Everyone had a great time taking part in the events. Thank you to everyone who came to support and to the PTA for selling the very much needed refreshments!

Chessington Trip Year 6

The Year 6s had the best time celebrating the end of their SATs at Chessington World of Adventures.

10 Year Anniversary Colour Run

To celebrate 10 years of Ascot Road Primary School, we all took part in the colour run. Everyone had so much fun, the playground was full of laughter and smiles. A very colourful success!!

Ascot Road Summer Fair Extravaganza

A huge thank you to the PTA for organising another successful Summer Fair. We appreciate everyone for coming on what was such a hot day! We enjoyed a range of fun stalls, a special performance from Moonglow Dance and a fun session by Zumba Watford. Thank you to all who gave their time and ensured it was an enjoyable day for all.

Spanish Day

Mr Pacheco organised a fun Spanish themed day for our pupils. We welcomed a host of Spanish students who took part in lots of different activities and games across the day. The children enjoyed learning some of the language and got to learn about lots of different Spanish speaking countries around the world!

Playground Mural

Our beautiful mural to mark 10 Years at Ascot Road School. Mrs Beere even got her paintbrush to help Dominique, artist from DODeco.

Outcomes at Ascot Road

We are extremely excited to announce the incredible SATs results for our Year 6 children. We are so very proud of them, but it couldn't have been possible without the hard work of the class teacher, Millie Chapman and the Year 6 Team.

Well Done, we are very proud of you.

We would also like to celebrate the fact that 87% of children at Ascot Road School passed their Phonics Screening Check.

Important Reminders

Please ensure the food your child brings into school does not contain any nuts as we are a NUT FREE school.

Please ensure all your children's items are clearly labelled! Uniform, water bottles, packed lunch boxes, coats.... we have so many items end up in the lost property every week, most of which is not labelled. Please ensure you label everything so if lost it can be quickly returned to its owner!

Start and end of school day notice

For everyone's safety, we kindly ask that children refrain from using the playground equipment or playing ball games on the school grounds during drop-off and pick-up times. We also request that families leave the school grounds promptly after collecting their children, so the gates can be securely locked. Many thanks for your support in this matter.

Attendance

The current attendance at Ascot Road is 92.3% which is below national at 94.5%. Regular attendance is key to your child’s success. Each day in school builds their academic progress and social skills. Missing school can lead to gaps in learning, making it harder to keep up with lessons. By prioritising attendance, you help your child stay engaged and reach their full potential.
