Dear Parents and Carers,

As the term progresses and we look ahead to the festive season, I am delighted to share some wonderful highlights and developments from across the school.

We have been thrilled to launch our amazing new specialist provision for Key Stage 2! This initiative allows our older pupils to receive dedicated, focused teaching in core subjects. To celebrate and reflect these areas of study, the doors leading to these classrooms have been beautifully decorated to mirror the subject areas, creating an inspiring and engaging environment for our students every day.

This month has also been filled with brilliant enrichment opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom. We were so proud of the students who participated in the Bikeability course, confidently developing essential cycling safety skills. A major highlight was the Key Stage 2 trip to the National History Museum! The children had an incredible time exploring history and science, bringing their classroom learning vividly to life. Thank you to all the staff and parent helpers who made this memorable day possible.

We must also give a huge thank you to the fantastic team at Croxley Business Park for their generous support. Their hard work recently involved clearing the space ahead of the planned refurbishment of our outdoor learning area in the coming months. We are thrilled to be moving forward with this project, which will create an even more engaging and purposeful space for all our children to explore, play, and learn outside.

Finally, mark your calendars! Our much-anticipated Christmas Fair is just around the corner, and we are working hard to make it a magical success on Saturday 13th December. These events are vital for raising the essential funds that support key initiatives and resources for your children. To ensure this wonderful tradition continues, we are sending out a plea for support from our parents. We urgently need volunteers to help set up, run stalls, and clear up. Please look out for the separate PTA communication and consider donating some of your time—your involvement makes a huge difference!

Doors of Wonder

We are extremely proud of specialist provision in KS2. Staff have now designed their doors to match their specialist subject to motivate and inspire pupils.

Ascot Road Leadership Team

We are excited to announce the appointment of our new Heads and Deputies, and Park Captains for this school year! These students have been chosen for their exemplary behaviour, leadership qualities, and commitment to our school community. The Heads and Deputy lead roles will play a key in representing the school at events, assisting staff, and being positive role models for their peers. Meanwhile, our Park Captains will take a lead on the . Congratulations to all, and we look forward to seeing them shine in their new roles!

Year 6 Trip

Natural History Museum

Year 6 enjoyed a trip to the Natural History Museum. They took part in an evolution workshop to enrich their knowledge linked to their science topic of Evolution and Inheritance.

Bikeability

Children who took part in this years Bikeability course have had a great time! This is such a great way for children to build their confidence, and enjoy the life skill, independence and fun of cycling.

Attendance

The current attendance at Ascot Road is 87.9% which is below national at 95%. Regular attendance is key to your child’s success. Each day in school builds their academic progress and social skills. Missing school can lead to gaps in learning, making it harder to keep up with lessons. By prioritising attendance, you help your child stay engaged and reach their full potential.

Help us to make the Christmas Fair Magical!

Our annual Christmas Fair on Saturday 13th December is fast approaching, and we need your help to make it the biggest success yet!

These events are incredibly important for raising vital funds that directly benefit every child in our school.

To keep this wonderful tradition alive and ensure its success this year, we urgently need more parent volunteers. Without adequate support, we may not be able to offer the Fair in the future.

Can you spare an hour or two? Whether it's setting up, running a stall, or tidying up, every minute counts!

Healthy Eating Slip

We are introducing a new initiative to ensure children are coming to school with a healthy packed lunch. We are noticing an increasing number of unhealthy items being brought in to school which are not permitted.

If we notice these items in your child's lunch, a slip (as shown) will be put into their lunch box for your attention.

As we are all aware, a healthy balanced diet provides the energy, focus and brain function needed for learning while proper nutrition supports mood and concentration.

Your support is crucial to the success of this initiative.

Lost Property

From Tuesday 2nd December, we will have a lost property box outside. This will be located at the front of school by the wall next to the school office. Any unnamed items will be placed in the box.

At the end of each half term, any unclaimed items will be disposed of.

Please ensure you label all of your children's items. Please refrain from sending your child in with toys/unnecessary belongings.

The school accepts no responsibility or liability for the loss or damage of pupils personal property and belongings.

Outdoor Learning Space

We're extremely excited and grateful to Croxley Park who are helping to refurb our outdoor learning area. Work got underway this month, with the first phase being sorting and clearing! The space has huge potential and we can't wait to see the project move forward. Watch this space!

Children In Need

Thank you so much to all those who donated towards Children In Need. We managed to raise a fabulous £250.00. This will all go towards the charity who fund vital support for children and young people struggling with challenges caused by mental health, poverty, social inequality and family-related issues
