Guess what's taking centre stage at Ascot Road? The one and only Reception Nativity Scene Spectacular ! We've decked the halls, with the story of the season. From wise men to donkeys, it's a celebration of the true spirit of the holidays. We can't wait to share this heart-warming tradition with you.

Hold onto your Santa hats because the Year 2 Carol Concert is just around the corner! Get ready to jingle all the way with tunes that will have you singing in the shower for weeks. Whether you're a shower-singer or a carol connoisseur, this event is not to be missed.

Get ready for a holly, jolly time because our Christmas Fair is coming to town! Save the date – December 9th at 12 - 3pm – and join us for a festive extravaganza. From tasty treats to seasonal crafts, there's something for everyone. Don't miss out on the merriment!

We can't wait for the delicious Christmas lunch on 13th December. In the true spirit of the season, we encourage everyone to embrace the festive atmosphere and are very welcome to wear a Christmas jumper. Whether adorned with classic holiday motifs, creatively embellished or just bright colours, let us come together in a celebration of joy and cheer.

Latest news

Reception

Reception when on a visit to Cassiobury Park. They explored different habitats, as part of their ‘All about Autumn’ topic. They found many different things including leaves, conkers, pinecones and even a frog! We had a lovely day learning all about nature.

Year 1

Year 1 have got stuck into their new RE topic of ‘Diwali’ by making diya lamps and rangoli patterns.

Year 2

Year 2 have been busy learning about Hinduism in RE. We are learning about the festival of Navratri,

and the different gods and goddesses.

Year 3

Year 3 have explored Stone Age monuments as part of our topic Through the Ages. They had the opportunity to choose which monument they wanted to recreate and off they went building! Students were inspired by monuments created 6000 years ago. A great effort from Year 3

Year 4

Year 4 took part in a Buddhist Workshop. The speaker told stories and some of the children took part in mini plays. There were also musical demonstrations and face painting.

Year 5

Well done to our Year 5 Student Seb for winning the Poetry competition.

Year 6

Year 6's science lessons have been investigating light and how shadows are formed. We have made our own shadow puppets to test the different components needed to make a shadow and how we can change a shadow's shape and size.

PTA Events

We can't wait to see you at Ascot Road's Christmas Fair on Saturday 9th December.

There will be a range of stalls, games and fun to be had by all.

Forest School

At Forest School the children have been actively engaged in creating beautiful natural collages using a diverse range of leaves, twigs, flowers, and other natural elements. Its impressive to see their creativity unfold as they arrange and place their materials onto their collage. We believe these activities are not only fostering a love of nature but also promoting important skills such as creativity, teamwork and problem solving.

Kindness is at the heart of everything we do. Children at Ascot Road are encouraged to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and respect towards their peers, teachers and the broader community. We believe that instilling a sense of kindness, we contribute to creating a supportive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and included. As we move forward, we invite you to join in reinforcing these values at home. Encouraging your child to practice kindness and express gratitude in their daily lives will not only contribute to their personal development but also reinforce the lessons they are learning at school.

Improved Attendance👏 now lets improve lateness 👍

Our whole school attendance this half term is currently 94.1% which is 4% higher than last year. Thank you for working hard with us to make sure your children have been in school especially with the change in weather and rise in colds/ flu.

We want to tackle lateness now. Lateness has a huge impact on learning and starting the day right. Here is a diagram that shows how being late can impact learning.

Parent Governor Wanted!

We are currently seeking nominations for the position of Parent Governor on the school's governing body.
